New York, NY – August 23, 2017 – On Tuesday, August 22nd, Mark Trocino, Founder and President of the Salvatore & Patricia Trocino Foundation (SAPTF), was honored by City & State New York with their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award for Philanthropy. Trocino was presented with the award at a breakfast reception attended by leaders in government, non-profits, business and members of academia at New York Law School.

In addition to being the Founder and President of SAPTF, Mark Trocino operates Mark Trocino Strategic Communications a marketing and public relations consulting firm where he has built his business on the pillars of giving back to his community through leadership, philanthropy and volunteerism. A strong believer that leadership is the greatest attribute and that philanthropy in business helps the greater good, Trocino often does pro bono work for non-profit clients. Trocino serves as a member of the American Cancer Society, Hudson Valley Region’s Board of Advisors and has served on the Board of Directors for Leadership Orange, a non-profit organization dedicated to leadership development.

Established in 2016, the Salvatore & Patricia Trocino Foundation carries on the legacy of Mark’s parents by funding educational scholarships and other philanthropic causes in New York’s Hudson Valley. Utilizing fun events such as the Giro d’Salvatore (a 100 mile bicycle race) and promotion via social media, the Mark has raised thousands of dollars through the Foundation to help fund scholarships and charitable donations that continue his parents’ legacy of giving back to their community.

“Who ever thought that starting a charitable foundation in your parents’ honor and riding a bicycle could have such an impact? I am truly humbled by what we have accomplished to date and know that we have only scratched the surface of this Foundation’s potential. My parents would be very proud,” said Mark Trocino.

The CSR Award for Philanthropy celebrates individuals and companies in New York for outstanding giving, matching, volunteering and grant programs. Honorees include individuals and organizations that donate funds, time, resources, or in-kind services to charitable, non-profit, and/or community initiatives with the intention of giving back for the greater good.

“The mission of City & State CSR is to promote Corporate Social Responsibility by shining a light on the companies that have put the values of CSR into practice. At its core, CSR is about thought leadership. It’s about New York businesses doing their part to help the communities they serve.” – Tom Allon, President of City & State NY.
