Sal & Pat’s Story

An Italian immigrant and the all American girl, an unlikely combination but it worked for Salvatore and Patricia Trocino. Together, they raised four loving sons who still call the Hudson Valley their home.

Salvatore was born in Petilia Policastro, a small town in the Calabria region of southern Italy. As a young man, Salvatore immigrated to the United States in search of the ‘American Dream’.

Patricia was the eldest and only female of the five Maurer children. She was born in Queens, NY and spent her adolescent and teenage years in Valhalla and Hopewell Junction, NY.

Sal and Pat met each other in the early 1970’s at a local dance. They married in 1975 and went on to have four sons - Domenic, Mark, Christopher and Anthony. The Trocino family resided in the City of Poughkeepsie until 1993 when they relocated a few miles away to the Town of LaGrange where both Salvatore and Patricia lived until they passed.

A loving couple and devout parents, Sal and Pat raised their children to respect their community and value education. Neither having a college education, Sal and Pat put special emphasis on education. They made it their mission to ensure each of their boys would graduate from college.

Though both Salvatore and Patricia have passed, their memory and legacy continues on with their family and through The Salvatore & Patricia Trocino Foundation. Monies raised by the foundation help fund local scholarships as well as other good in Hudson Valley.
